Pedorthic Clinics

The Pedorthic Foundation is reaching out beyond its normal activities to launch a new activity which will allow pedorthists and the pedorthic community to give back to their communities.

Beginning in 2010 the Pedorthic Foundation will develop the framework of setting up and operating pedorthic clinics to serve recipients in need.

It should be stressed that the goal in 2010 is to develop the program and possibly operate one pilot project.

Goals of the Activity

To help the many people in all communities across the USA who have debilitating foot problems but don't receive pedorthic treatment because the lack adequate medical coverage
To provide adequate/proper footwear and socks where required for above treated individuals
To provide an opportunity to many pedorthists both old and newly certified to become involved in the work of the Foundation and help humanity
To create public awareness of pedorthics and the Pedorthic Foundation through the publicity generated
To create a framework for future research
To provide publicity for local pedorthists and other medical professionals
To build relationships with related health care groups
To generate funds to support additional clinics and Pedorthic Foundation work

Next Steps

The PF will, as stated above, develop in early 2010 the framework for this activity. This will include seeking individuals interested in working on the activity as well as researching a pilot city for the program.
