The Pedorthic Foundation is governed by a 12-person Board of Directors who serve on a voluntary basis; Board terms extend for three years, and Directors are eligible to serve three continuous terms. The activities and operations of the Foundation are overseen by seven Committees. You can play a key role in helping the Foundation succeed in advancing pedorthics. Volunteer to be a part of the rewarding work of giving back to your profession. The Executive Committee consists of the officers of the Pedorthic Foundation. It is responsible for general oversight and to act on matters between regular meetings of the Board of Directors.
This Committee oversees the activities of the Foundation in two areas: providing career assistance and awarding research grants. In the area of career assistance, it administers the Foundation's scholarship program, as well as gathering and dispensing information on pedorthic careers and pedorthic schools. The research component addresses providing grants for research that will advance pedorthics and seeing that this research is published.
This Committee is responsible for generating the funds needed to carry out the work of the Foundation. It develops, implements and oversees all fund-raising activities.
This Committee is responsible for overseeing the finances of the Foundation, including the development of financial reports and budgets. It also includes seeing that the Foundation's policies regarding donations/gifts, payments and investments are followed.
This Committee is responsible for communicating the mission and activities of the Foundation by all means possible, including press releases, newsletters, website, exhibits, electronic communications, social media such as Facebook, and other forums as appropriate. The Committee also oversees the Foundation's marketing and works with all the committees that release information regarding the Foundation to see that the Foundation message is clear and consistent.
The Committee seeks and nominates persons to run for the Board of Directors. It also advises the President on persons to be appointed to fill directorships that become available due to vacancies occurring between elections.
